Former governor says he'll support an Igbo presidential candidate in 2019

Former governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, has advised Nigerians to shun sectionalism saying that he will support a credible Igbo candidate for 2019 presidential election.

Mallam Balarabe Musa is not happy with the ministerial nominees

He said the country need someone who will summon all the problems and address them.

"I think we should stop talking about regions," Musa said. "Now that the problem is quite clear, we must look for credible leaders with integrity."

Musa said the problem of individuals suffering and the problem of development in the country should not be sectionalised.

"We should be looking for a presidential candidate who can deliver no matter where he comes from. Definitely, he is not going to govern alone. Even if you have an Igbo man as president, he will not make it only to his own Igbo," Musa added.

The first civilian governor of Kaduna State said anyone that is elected president must take into account, the Federal Character Principles as practise in the country.

"So, the most important thing is having someone who is capable. Particularly a person who has a record of performance. In the case of Buhari, he has been given too much benefit of doubt. Too much! Because what you have to take into account is his records right from the time he was a military head of state till today," Balarabe Musa added.
