Senator Mohammed believes the APC intention during the 2015 elections was solely to ‘dislodge’ the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ‘without an agenda’ for the Nigerian people.
“The APC is a loose coalition of strange bedfellows with divergent causes,” the former minister said during a courtesy visit to the newly inaugurated state PDP executives at the party’s secretariat in Bauchi.
Mohammed who disclosed his intention to contest for the governorship position of Bauchi state noted that the Governor Mohammed Abubakar-led APC administration had failed to deliver dividends of democracy to the citizens.
He expressed confidence that the PDP would unseat the ruling party in the next election adding that the party had identified all its lapses that led to its defeat in the last 2015 polls.
"The coalition of parties that came together and formed the APC are very incongruous with each other. With different manifestos and backgrounds, their only purpose was to make sure they dislodged the PDP which they did without any agenda on ground,” he said.
Senator Mohammed dismissed allegations that the PDP had mismanaged Nigeria’s economy for 16 years, adding that all the existing infrastructures and social amenities such as roads, hospitals, schools among others being used in the country and Bauchi State in particular were provided by the party.
“No new project has been commissioned by the present APC administration,” he announced.
Meanwhile, civil society group, the National Coalition of Patriots for Positive Change has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to seek a second term in office following his ‘sterling performance’ since May 2015.
