Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has cited irregularities with the campaign system as the reason for his absence at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rallies.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa on Friday, March 20, Atiku said he had not been invited to the campaign rallies and that he would attend he would not attend the campaigns if not invited.

“There are minor irregularities in connection with the system being followed by the campaign team of General Buhari but we are trying to correct it. They need to check the strategy they are adopting,” he said.

While denying the reports that he planned to return to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku said he had informed the director of the Buhari Campaign Organisation, Rotimi Amaechi, that if he is not invited to the rallies, he would not attend.
