Aregbesola, while addressing journalists said Nigeria needs prayers for it to be able to survive in the midst of dwindling crude oil prices.

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state seems to be feeling the heat of the current financial situation of the country.

Punch Newspapers reports that Aregbesola, during a meeting with journalists said Nigeria needs prayers for it to be able to survive in the midst of dwindling crude oil prices.

You will recall that Osun state was one of the beneficiaries of the Federal Government bailout funds disbursed by President Buhari in the early days of his tenure.

Speaking on the situation of the nation, the Governor said “Salvaging the nation  from the ongoing economic quagmire requires  creativity, commitment, patriotism and honesty not only by the people in leadership positions but also on the part of the generality of the people.”

“This could be achieved  through active participation in polity and developmental programmes initiated by government at all levels and targeted at the socio-economic development of the country.”

The National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGG.MDP) in Osun state, recently threatened to lay down tools if their demands are not met.

Reports also say Resident Doctors have been on strike since September 28, 2015 over unpaid salaries.

Rauf Aregbesola was a former Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in Lagos state.
