Fayemi joins race

Former Ekiti state governor and current Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi had indicated interest in joining the race.

He said he is driven by his past records of positive achievements, especially for workers, retirees and pensioners while in office in the state.

Fayemi added that his decision to seek re-election is to deliver the state from incompetent and dubious hands and take the state to where its supposed to be.

The minister and his successor in Ekiti, Governor Ayo Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been at loggerheads over who has done a better job as governor of the state.

Fayose, who has indicated interest to run for President in 2019, is one of the fierce critics of the President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC as a whole.
