Uba promises people-oriented government

"I will run an all-inclusive government laced with equity and justice enshrined in the fundamental principles of true democracy," Uba said.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election, Senator Andy Uba has said that he would operate a people-oriented government if elected.

Senator Uba stated this at the weekend during his primary campaign tour ahead of the November poll.

"With my experience in government, I have come to understand fully that democracy is a government of the people, for the people and by the people. Therefore, I make bold to say that anything short of that is at best quasi - democracy and that too, is unacceptable.

“An ideal democracy is that which is people-oriented and people- driven; a system that makes room equitably for all of its intrinsic parts regardless of status and that is what Anambra state is going to enjoy," he added.

Speaking at the event, a community leader in Anambra state, Chief Paul Ejidike described Uba as the most qualified candidate for the governorship position.

"Senator Andy Uba is a man that has over the years proven his worth in the National Assembly as a legislative heavy-weight and at grassroot level as a visionary, innovative and progressive leader; a man with foresight who knows not just what to do, but when and how to do what," he said.

Uba had earlier renovated a block of classrooms at the Girls High School Uga-Aguata to enhance academic activities in the state.
