APC thanks Nigerians for standing by ex-gov

Amaechi had been a topic of debate in the Nigeria’s political sphere since President Muhammadu Buhari nominated him as a minister in his cabinet.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers state chapter, has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for the exceptional support expressed towards the state’s former governor, Rotimi Amaechi, whose ministerial nomination was, at last, confirmed by the Senate on Thursday, October 22.

Amaechi had been a topic of debate in the Nigeria’s political sphere since President Muhammadu Buhari nominated him as a minister in his cabinet.

Hues of petitions to stop him from being confirmed by the Upper Chamber failed on Thursday, as his screening, which had stalled for weeks, eventually went through successfully.

In a statement signed by the APC spokesman in Rivers, Chris Finebone, the party assured that Amaechi would be committed to the interest of the masses as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Again, we would like to state that we are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and recognition for the former governor by all shades of the Nigerian populace and would like to assure everyone that Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi would continue to identify and fight for the interest of the ordinary Nigerian even as he becomes a Minister in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari” the statement assured.
