Former governor is on his way to APC

Alao-Akala made the revelation on Thursday, December 17, 2015, during a visit to current Governor, Abiola Ajimobi to congratulate him on the upholding of his election victory by the Appeal Court.

 

Former Oyo State Governor, Adebayo Alao-Akala has revealed that he might soon be defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Alao-Akala made the revelation on Thursday, December 17, 2015, during a visit to current Governor, Abiola Ajimobi to congratulate himon the upholding of his election victory by the Appeal Court, Vanguard reports.

“I am here to rejoice with my brother for the judgment of today. We already knew what the outcome would be; we had expected what we got today. So we are rejoicing,” the former governor said.

“It has been on; we are still crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s. I am on my way to APC,” Alao-Akala added when he was questioned on his proposed defection.

The former governor was initially a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but he defected to the Labour Party (LP) in a bid to contest the April 11 governorship elections in the state.

He contested along with Ajimobi and another former governor, Rashidi Ladoja who ran on the platform of the Accord Party (AP).

Ajimobi’s election victory was challenged by Ladoja.
