Afenifere endorses Jonathan

Yoruba socio-political Organisation, Afenifere has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term in office.

This was disclosed by the Publicity Secretary of the Organisation, Yinka Odumakin on Tuesday, January 27, in Akure, Ondo State.

The revelation came after Jonathan met with the group at the home of its National Chairman, Reuben Fasoranti during a campaign trip to the state.

Odumakin stated that the leaders of Afenifere had decided to support Jonathan because he “convoked the National Conference and is ready to implement the report”.

The state Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, who was also present at the meeting, described Afenifere’s action as an unequivocal endorsement of the president.

Mimiko had earlier stated that Jonathan would win the upcoming electionsas opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC), was only deceiving Nigerians.
