Unemployed man spends 2 months in jail for stealing car battery from mosque

A Shari’a Court sitting in Kaduna State on Monday sentenced a 24-year-old unemployed man, Mustapha Yusuf, to two months imprisonment for stealing a car battery from a mosque.

A Shari’a Court sitting in Kaduna State on Monday sentenced a 24-year-old unemployed man, Mustapha Yusuf, to two months imprisonment for stealing a car battery from a mosque.

The Judge, Malam Anas Khalifa, sentenced Yusuf after he pleaded guilty to trespass and theft. Khalifa, however, gave Yusuf an option of an ₦10,000 fine.

Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Luka Sadau stated that one Abdulaziz Sa’idu the Imam of the mosque reported the matter at the Sabon Gari, police station.

Sadau alleged that the convict trespassed into the premises of a mosque on Maiduguri road and stole a battery from a parked vehicle.
