Even back home, we get reports of drug busts on a monthly basis. About a year ago, a meth kitchen was busted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Also regular is how Nigerians have been arrested across Europe and Asia with links to illicit drug trade.

On Wednesday, January 2, 2018, news broke that Joseph Uzoma, a Nigerian based around Hauz Rani Bus Stop, Delhi, India in a rented house was arrested in Gurgaon, Noida and Delhi-NCR have been arrested by the south district police.

According to Daily Post, the Police said the 27-year-old was arrested with a 37.5 gram of cocaine worth Rs 20 lakh in the international market after had set a trap for him after they got information on Sunday, December 21, 2018, that Uzoma plies his trade at the Hauz Rani Bus Stop, Delhi, India.

Vijay Kumar, DC Police (South District) reportedly told Dailyhunt Hindi that, “Last Sunday, we had received a tip-off that drug trafficker Joseph would come in a private taxi to supply cocaine near Hauz Rani bus stop.

“A police team under the supervision of ACP Udaibir Singh and others was constituted to lay a trap at the bus stop. Following his arrival, he was arrested with 38 gram of fine quality cocaine valued at Rs 20 lakh in the international market.

Uzoma who was discovered to have come to India on student visa told Police that he got the cocaine from someone in Noida, India and also revealed that he uses a hired taxi driver to sell the cocaine in Delhi and NCR.
