During the hearing, police prosecutor, Inspector Rhoda Kayode, told the court that one Oluwarotimi Ajiboye reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters at Iloffa that Ajamu Abolaji was missing after leaving his house in Idofin Igbana to inspect his farm.
Kayode said, "A search party raised by the community later found the decomposing body of Ajamu in the bush on the outskirts of Idofin Igbana village.
"The body had the left eye removed, tongue cut off and the left hand cut from the elbow downward.
"The wife of the deceased, Mrs Deborah Abolaji, 68, suspected the accused, their biological son, to be responsible for the death of the victim.
"Upon this suspicion, the accused was arrested and during investigation, it was revealed that there was a disaffection between the deceased and his son over farmland which led to the accused threatening to kill his two parents."
She said the crime contravened section 221 of the Penal Code Law. The suspect, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In his ruling, presiding magistrate, Bamidele Bukola, ordered the accused be remanded in Oke-Kura prison and adjourned the case till February 26 for hearing.
