The Police at Aguda Police Station, Lagos State, have arrested a 26-year-old man, Chinedu Obi, for having unlawful sexual intercourse with his employer's 12-year-old twin girls.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, made this known via a signed statement made available to newsmen on Sunday, June 28, 2020, reported NAN.

Obi, while confessing to the Police that he committed the crime, said he started having carnal knowledge of the girls (name withheld) in 2019.

The suspect has been arrested and he confessed to the commission of the crime.

“He said that he started having sexual intercourse with the girls in 2019,” the officer said.

Police said the man carried out the act when his employer left the two girls in his custody.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has warned parents against leaving their kids in the care of anyone as this may expose them to abuse.

“The CP has advised parents not to trust anyone with their kids, especially female children.

“He further reaffirmed the commitment of the command to continually apprehend sexual offenders, wherever they are in the State and make them face the full weight of the law, Bala said.

Odumosu has instructed that the Gender Unit, State Headquarters, Ikeja, take over the case for discreet investigation and painstaking prosecution.

“Together we can stop rape and all forms of sexual violence,” Elkana concluded.
