2 children go missing as flood sack Ondo community
Ajapa, a riverine community, was on Friday, submerged by water, which rendered many people homeless.

The children identified as Igulapelewe Inuesokan, 2, and Justinah Seiwei, 3, had been missing during the flood that ravaged the community.
Punch gathered that the children went missing when their parents got aboard a canoe to find the means of preventing their floating house, which has been partially submerged in flood.
On their return, the parents discovered that their children were nowhere to be found.
It was when the parents returned that the two children were discovered missing.
Aside the missing children, hundreds of people have been rendered homeless in Ajapa, a riverine community in the state, was submerged by water.
Speaking on the incident, a traditional ruler in the community, High Chief Godwin Akpo, said the children went missing as a result of the flood which had wreaked havoc in the town.
He said, “It has never happened like this before. The situation has badly affected the whole community, no house was spared, including schools and churches.
“It (the flood) started about four days ago but today (Sunday) is the worst.
“All our houses and property are gone. It was so unfortunate that we even lost two children to the incident.”
Akpo further lamented that the situation has since resulted to starvation and economic loss, describing the incident as a worrisome occurrence.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command, Femi Joseph, said he had not been briefed about the matter.
