EFCC arrests 27 Yahoo Boys in Lagos hotel raid

The EFCC raid was targeted at one Rasaq Balogun who's a suspected internet fraud kingpin.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan zonal office, raided the hotel believed to be a hideout for internet fraudsters.

Although, the raid was only aimed at arresting one Rasaq Balogun, a suspected internet fraud kingpin, it led to the arrest of others who are also believed to be in the business.

Balogun, according to a statement by the commission, allegedly harboured an army of young men recruited to carry out financial frauds on the internet.

While some were arrested at Balogun's Beckley Estate residence in Lagos, among others were apprehended at the hotel.

The anti-graft agency recovered from the suspects three vehicles, fetish items, laptops, mobile phones and documents suspected to contain fraudulent data.
