Soyinka said “Until we make an example of people like (Senator Ahmed) Yerima, there will be thousands of Yunusa.”

He made this statement at a joint press conference with human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana.

The Nobel Laureate also praised the Emir of Kano saying “emir represents a modern traditional ruler who will help transform the primitive chief’s in power.”

Meanwhile, a former presidential aide, Reuben Abati  said Ese Oruru was obviously hypnotized by her kidnapper.

An Islamic scholar and Director of Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Ishaq Akintola, has called for the prosecution of Ese’s alleged abductor, Yunusa Yellow.
