Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has threatened to sue the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) for breach of contract over the reconstruction of a port road.

Wike made the threat while inaugurating an industrial road project in Port Harcourt, The Cable reports.

“We agreed with NPA and even signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to contribute for reconstruction of the road. After signing, NPA did not bring a dime, and today they are benefitting as economic activities have increased in the port,” the governor said.

“We have promised our people that we will not allow them to continue to suffer or allow people and organisations to play politics with projects. We are looking to take legal action in order to make NPA pay their part of funds for the project,” he added.

Meanwhile, Wike has urged former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff to apologize to the party over his conduct before and after its convention which held on May 21, 2016.
