Other passengers in the convoy were not hurt, report said.

Timipre Sylva

Cousin to Timipre Sylva, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Bayelsa, Krinpere Douglas, has been abducted by unknown gunmen.

He was said to have been riding in a convoy of boats this afternoon, Nov. 23, along the Ogbia-Brass waterways when the gunmen attacked and whisked him away.

Confirming the abduction, the Director, Media and Publicity for Sylva’s campaign, Mr. Nathan Egba, said the victim was heading to a political rally in support of Sylva at Okpoma and Brass areas of the State when he was kidnapped.

“I pray that nothing will happen to him,'' Egba said.

According to a police spokesman, the state command has not received an official report on the incident.
