Speaking to journalists on Sunday, June 5, 2016, Tsandu said he has made efforts to see the SGF in other to work ways of rebuilding bridges, schools, places of worship, social amenities that were destroyed by Boko Haram in the northern part of Adamawa state but the SGF shunned him.
According to Tsandu, the SGF singled out his village and rebuilt the bridge, tarred the road and provided electricity to the entire community which was not seriously damaged by Boko Haram.
"Babachir is so selfish to us from the Boko Haram most attacked areas,” Tsandu said adding, “As I'm talking to you he has not sent any support materials to Magadali who are still being attacked by these insurgents. Our bridges that link us to Michika and Mubi was destroyed and nobody is given it a serious attention," Tsandu added.
In a swift reaction, the Pioneer National Vice Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in-charge of North East, Dr Umar Duhu, said contrary to Tsandu’s claim, the SGF is not selfish.
According to Duhu, APC as a party would have called the SGF names if he had listened to Tsandu. “Let Tsandu and his party begin to understand that, they are now in the opposition.”
“Has he forgotten so soon how they morsel the APC when they were in government? The APC government knows exactly what to do at the appropriate time. Security of lives and property is what the APC government is seriously tackling at the moment,” Duhu said.
“Let me at the juncture sound a warning to Emmanuel Tsandu and any member of the opposition political party, that we will no longer take it lightly with anyone of them, if they personally attack our revered leaders. The APC leaders and its government does not and will not take advice that is not constructive,” Duhu added.
