The Senate President however said that he didn’t attend the hearing because of a Federal High Court order summoning the Ministry of Justice to explain why the trial should go on.

My absence from the Tribunal today, was based on counsel received that the tribunal will respect the decision of the Federal High Court,” Saraki explained via Twitter.

“CCT Chairman & members who only take official oath and not judicial oath are expected to respect the decision of the superior court,” he added.

The CCB has filed a 13-count charge against Saraki and is accusing him of anticipatory declaration of assets and failure to declare assets acquired while he was the Governor of Kwara State among others.
