CCT clears Senate President of false asset declaration charges

The CCT chairman said the prosecution failed to prove the case of false asset declaration against Saraki.

In a ruling on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, CCT chairman, Umar Danladi said the prosecution failed to prove the case of false asset declaration against Saraki.

Umar dismissed all 13-count charge against Saraki.

Saraki had on Thursday, May 4, 2017, filed a no-case submission at the tribunal.

The Senate president told the court to discharge him as he had no case to answer.

Meanwhile, Saraki has attributed the source of his wealth to hard work and the opportunity of being born into a blessed family.

In an interview with , Saraki expressed confidence that he would be cleared of the charges against him at the CCT.
