Airlines seek 45% increase in fares

The current spike in the exchange rate of the dollar to the naira may be taking its toll on the country’s foreign-exchange-dependent aviation sector as airline operators seek to increase their fares by 45 per cent.

MTN targets 2017 for listing of shares in Nigeria

South Africa’s telecommunications firm, MTN, will list its shares on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) in 2017 . Analysts say the decision was part of agreement the company reached with the Federal Government as a condition for slashing the fine imposed on it by the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) from $5.2 billion to N330 billion.

PDP, Anenih reconcile

As part of efforts to secure the support of its aggrieved members, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reconciled with a former chairman of its Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Tony Anenih.
