Polish Sailors still alive, family member confirms

It was further gathered that the kidnappers contacted the wife of the captain in Poland but no further details were given as regards what they discussed.

 

Fresh information has revealed that Polish sailors, who were kidnapped by pirates while on a cargo ship named Szafir (Sapphire) are still very much alive.

According to exclusive information gathered by Pulse, a member of the captain's family has revealed that the kidnapped sailors are still alive.

The information was also confirmed by the Poland Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This new development is coming hours after Haruna Jauro, acting Director-General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), sent out a directive that the abducted captain and four crew members of a Polish cargo vessel be rescued.

On Friday, November 27, 2015, a cargo ship named Szafir (Sapphire) carrying 16 people of Polish origin was hijacked by Nigerian pirates.
