The Jahu Local Government Council of Jigawa has said that it is targeting no fewer than 81,000 children for vaccination against polio in the ongoing continuous immunisation programme.

The Manager, National Programme on Immunisation (NPI), Malam Muhammad Zakari, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Monday.

Zakari, represented by council's Information Officer, Malam Muhammad Umar, said that the council had received 83,000 doses of Oral Polio Vaccines (OPVs) for the smooth conduct of the exercise.

He explained that the children would be immunised against polio and other child-killer diseases during the five-day exercise.
