What late monarch said in final message to Aregbesola

Aregbesola had spoken about the text after the monarch’s death in July but failed to give details saying only that it was ‘touching’.

Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola has disclosed the contents of the last text message sent to him by the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade before he died.

The governor read out Oba Sijuwade’s text on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, after his death was officially announced.

“His Excellence, I am still not feeling good, So I am travelling abroad for medical check up of my body therefore I place your government under God’s guidance,” the text read.

The Ooni passed away on July 28 in a United Kingdom hospital. He will be buried on Friday, August 14.
