Monarch supports Osun govt’s plans to host 2016 World Tourism Day

Bello commended the Ooni for his giant and commendable strides in forging national unity and unity among the Yoruba race.

The Ooni expressed the support in Ile-Ife when Mrs Olajumoke Bello, the Permanent Secretary of Osun Ministry of Information, Home Affairs, Tourism and Culture, paid him a courtesy visit at his palace.

The monarch noted that the state was richly endowed with quality tourist sites which, if well-packaged and publicised, were capable of boosting the state’s economy via the influx of tourists from all over the world.

He said that Gov. Rauf Aregbesola was passionately interested in developing the entire state, including its tourism potential, adding, however, that his administration could not do it alone without the active support of the people.

He, therefore, called on the citizens of the state to fully support the efforts of the Aregbesola-administration to boost the state’s economy and improve the social-economic status of its citizens.

In her remark, Bello commended the Ooni for his giant and commendable strides in forging national unity and unity among the Yoruba race.

She also thanked him for his royal support for efforts to promote arts and culture.

She spoke about the state government’s plans to develop the tourism and culture sector and solicited the Ooni’s royal blessing for the government’s efforts to host this year’s World Tourism Day in Ile-Ife in September.

She later presented some kolanuts to the Ooni, who, in return, thanked her and prayed for her as well as her entourage.
