Here’s everything we know about the ongoing burial rites of the deceased Oba:

  1. The body arrived at Ile Oodua early this week and was received by members of the Isoro cult.

  2. The body is being preserved through traditional means.

  3. His body is being kept in ‘Ilegbo’, the room where the monarch was crowned.

  4. All the rites will be carried out while the body is being kept at Ilegbo.

  5. The formal announcement of his death may not be made for weeks.

  6. It may take months depending on how fast the Isoro members are able to conclude the necessary rites.

  7. Non-Isoro members can’t see the body. Even his family members can no longer see him.
