Embassy source reveals that the monarch's body is still in London

The source also revealed that a staff from the UK High commission will accompany the Ooni's body back to Nigeria.

 

A source, who is a senior official in the Nigerian High Commission in the United Kingdom revealed that the Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Dalhatu Tafida, visited Ile-Ife to commiserate with the family.

Adding that “As a mark of respect, one protocol officer will go with them.”

According to Daily Times, the source said “The High Commissioner went there within two or three days of it happening last week. It was a very private visit, he didn’t want any media or the public to know, since it has not been officially announced."

The Embassy source also confirmed that the Ooni's body is still in London.

Sahara Reporters has also reported that the Ooni "died at the London Clinic, located at 20 Devonshire Place in London."

You will recall that the Chief Priest of Ile-Ife debunked the news making the rounds, that the monarch is dead.
