Some aggrieved members of the Oodua People's Congress (OPC) have asked the leader of the group, Gani Adams to step down,

They have also asked that a new leader be selected by consulting the Ifa oracle.

Ifa is one of the deities worshipped by some traditionalists in the Yoruba culture.

Supporters of Adams have however dismissed the call for him to step down.

They say those calling for his removal were suspended by the group.

The aggrieved members some time ago, alleged that Adams disrespected the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

They said “Adams is a disgrace to Yoruba culture. When you are promoting culture and you cannot bow in front of one of the most highly respect Oba in Yoruba land that is unacceptable.”

They also accused the OPC leader of collecting N10.6b from former President Goodluck Jonathan.
