Ex-PDP's scribe trial adjourned till July 7

Abang adjourned the case till July 7 after the prosecuting counsel, Rotimi Jacob (SAN), said that he had no objection to the application.

At the resumed hearing, Counsel to the defendant, Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), applied for an adjournment, contending that the matter was fixed hearing July 7 and not July 4.

The judge , Justice Okon Abang, said that he recorded July 4 as the adjourned date, which he said, was the same with that of the registrars’.

Metuh is standing trial on a seven-count charge of alleged corruption filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Meanwhile, the case of former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh, has also been adjourned till Oct.10, Oct.11 and Oct.12.

Abang adjourned the trial after the defence Counsel, Akin Olujimi (SAN) concluded the cross examination of a prosecution witness, Kabiru Salami.

Badeh is standing trial for allegedly diverting N3. 97 billion, money meant for purchasing arms to fighting insurgents in the North-East, which he pleaded not guilty.
