Governor Ugwuanyi visits prison, reassures residents of security

Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has reassured residents of the state of his administration’s unwavering commitment to protect lives and property.

Ugwuanyi gave the re-assurance in Nsukka, Enugu State, on Thursday when he paid an unscheduled visit to Nsukka prisons following Tuesday night's jail break

‘I decided to come here to have on the spot assessment and at the same time to reassure residents of the state of government’s commitment to ensure security of lives and property

‘I urge resident of the state to remain calm despite the incidents’, he said.

He said, the state government was working with the security agents to ensure that the fleeing escapees were recaptured as well as prevent reoccurrence of such incidents in the state.

‘I want to call on our people to support security agencies with relevant information by reporting suspicious movement of people in their areas.

"Enugu State is in the hands of God and with Him as our shepherd we have nothing to fear’, he said.
