So, if anyone is talking about bribery for promotion, there is nothing of such.
Reports say some officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) are disgruntled because of an alleged bribery scandal that is rocking the corp.
Sun Newspapers reports that the aggrieved officers are accusing the corp’s top management of collecting N300,000 from junior officers to promote them.
According to Sun Newspapers, a source said "to the surprise of workers, about 95 per cent of officers recruited in 2012 were promoted two to three steps ahead, under the ‘Special Promotion category, without even writing the promotion test, a development that has left workers angry and disgruntled.”
The NSCDC’s spokesman, Mr. Emmanuel Okehs, has since denied the allegation, saying ‘‘Another promotion exercise is due in December but in order not to have a situation where those that were promoted in the last exercise are slated for promotion exams again, we have decided to carry out a verification exercise. So, if anyone is talking about bribery for promotion, there is nothing of such.”
