Peter Obi praises Buhari for releasing IPOB leader

Nnamdi Kanu was released from Kuje Prison late on Friday, April 28, 2017.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose with IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu on April 25, 2017.

Obi said that it is a good move, adding that Buhari listened to the voice of reason.

The former Governor also called for the release of other Biafra agitators who are still being held in prison.

“I am happy that the Federal Government this time listened to the voice of reason.

“I congratulate Kanu on his release and wish to commend all those who played one role or the other to ensure that he met his tough bail conditions and was actually released.

“I wish to appeal to the Judiciary and the Federal Government to equally consider the other Biafra detainees for bail and release since, to the best of my knowledge, they have never resorted to violence in their agitation.

“As I counselled previously, the Federal Government should engage the Biafra agitators in dialogue. Every agitation in the world is resolved through dialogue," he added.

The IPOB leader’s wife, Uchechi Kanu, in a video, has said that her husband will never abandon the struggle for a Biafra nation.
