Journalists prevented from covering IPOB leader’s trial

Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is facing charges of treason before the Federal High Court.

The streets leading to the court have been blocked by security agents in Abuja, Channels TV reports.

Meanwhile, Ekiti State Governor​, Ayo ​Fayose​ is currently at the court to show his support for Kanu.

Kanu is set to face trial before Justice Binta Nyako.

Justice Nyako is expected to reach a decision on whether or not witnesses in the case against Kanu will be protected from the public.

​Kanu was arrested in October 2015 and has been in detention ever since.
