The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has announced its support for the bill on a monthly collection of house rent in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The group expressed its support for the bill which provides for a maximum of three months payment advance through its president, Ayuba Wabba on Thursday. The planned which was introduced by Senator Smart Adeyemi who represents the Kogi West Senatorial District.
The proposed bill seeks to bring rent collection practices in the FCT in tandem with practices obtained in more advanced economies in the world, reducing the financial burden that soaring accommodation costs have consistently put on members of the Nigerian public recently.
