Chairman of the NLC in the state, Adamu Ango, described the tariff increase as "inhuman'', saying that there must be improvement in power supply before increase in tariff.

Issa Aremu, of textile workers union also condemned the hike in tariff and called on the Federal Government to adopt the report of the 2014 national conference on power sector.

NAN reports that the protest was peaceful as security agents were deployed to ensure order.
