In Ondo, group hails Minister, Akeredolu

The communiqué was jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the group, Chief Niyi Netufo and Pastor Ishola Omoyele, respectively.

The group, in a communiqué issued in Lagos on Monday, commended Daramola, a native of Ode-Aye in Okitipupa Local Government area of Ondo State, for his achievements and the enduring peace in Ilaje/EseOdo oil producing communities.

The second National Council on Niger Delta (NCND) summit and the first in Ondo State was held in collaboration with the state government in Akure from Sept. 7 to Sept. 14.

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, addressed the meeting with the theme “Fast-tracking the Development and Peace of the Niger-Delta Region: Options and Prospects.”

The NCND is the highest advisory body to the Federal Government on development policies, programmes and strategies on security issues in the Niger-Delta.

The group said: “The Niger-Delta summit was the first of its type in Ondo State since the establishment of the Niger-Delta Ministry."

“It is commendable that such an all-important event was held in the state to discuss with the oil producing communities, stakeholders and the Federal Government on how to develop the region.”

The group commended the minister for collaborating with Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu to develop the state and to explore the economic potential of the state in the areas of tourism and bitumen exploration.

“Daramola, a result-oriented person, who never believes in propaganda, has quietly achieved a lot in youth empowerment through Agric-Tech training to hundreds of youths in the state, especially the oil producing communities."

“He has also secured foreign scholarship scheme and secured the approval of the Federal Executive Council to construct Federal Medical Health Centres and roads in Ilaje and its environs,” the group said.
