Security officials arrest 3 suspected militants in Bayelsa

The suspected militants were arrested during the raid of a camp in the Epebu Creek area of the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The suspected militants were arrested during the raid of a camp in the Epebu Creek area of the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, according to This Day.

The security officials were said to have recovered nine AK 47 rifles, one FN rifle, four HK 21 machine guns, one G3 machine gun, three General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG), 20 AK 47 magazines, two G3 magazines, one FN magazine, one gun powder container, one Epenal gun boat and a large quantity of ammunition during the raid.

Meanwhile, the Niger Delta Avengers have agreed to negotiate a ceasefire deal with the Federal Government.

The negotiation team will reportedly be led by Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka.
