Fighter jets, surveillance aircrafts deployed to track militants
The soldiers had arrested 10 suspected members of the group in the Saturday operation.
According to Vanguard, some residents of riverine communities in Warri South West local government area of the state said they saw the surveillance aircrafts, belonging to the Nigeria Ariforce, flying about their area at about 10.00am.
The soldiers had invaded the Kurutie community earlier around 4.00am combing the environs for the militants.
It was gathered that they moved from there to Okerenkoko, another Ijaw town in Gbaramatu kingdom.
Report said many residents including, women and children, who fled another town, Oporoza, on Saturday, May 28, when soldiers stormed there in search of the Avengers, are still trapped in the bush.
The soldiers had arrested 10 suspected members of the group in the operation.
Pulse recalls that the military carried out aerial bombardment in Oporoza in 2009 while searching for ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo.
