Col. Garba Moyi Isa (rtd), who was inaugurated as the chairman of the 25-member committee tasked with establishing the Sokoto State Community Guards, has resigned from his position, mere hours after his official appointment.

Col. Moyi's decision to step down is allegedly connected to a circulating video implicating him in having knowledge of banditry activities taking place in the eastern part of Sokoto State.

In his official resignation statement, Moyi, a former three-term commissioner in Sokoto State, vehemently expressed his unwavering commitment to upholding his hard-earned integrity.

He stated that his dedication to the nation, exemplified during his service as a Colonel and his various roles in politics, including chairman of his local government and state commissioner for security on three different occasions, remained untarnished.

"I will never trade my integrity for anything. No appointment is worth compromising my integrity, and that's why I have decided to relinquish my position as the chairman of the Community Guards," Moyi stated firmly, underlining his principles.
