Agency intercepts 162.6 kgs of cannabis in Jigawa

The statement said that the suspects were arrested on Dec. 1 by men of the command along the Auyo-Kafin-Hausa road in Auyo Local Government Area of the state.

The Jigawa Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Friday said it had arrested three suspects with 162.650 kg of cannabis in the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Zubairu Kassim, the Public Relations Officer of the command, and made available to newsmen in Dutse.

It further stated that the suspects were arrested in a bus containing 20 bags of the seized substance.

According to the statement, the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.

It quoted Malam Abdul Abdulhadi, the Commander of the agency in the state, as warning parents to always monitor the behaviours of their wards.

He also urged them to prevent their wards from keeping bad company.

Abdulhadi warned that the agency would continue to arrest any person dealing in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances in the state.
