Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar has said that some members of the National Assembly are trying to force him to buy them jeeps and houses in Abuja.

Abubakar said further that the lawmakers in question are opposing his administration because of his refusal to meet their demands.

“At a time, the National Assembly members met me in a certain place where they requested that I should buy houses for them in Abuja and luxury jeep cars, but I told them that even if I’m bathing in a pool of money, I cannot afford to meet their demands,” Abubakar said according to Daily Trust.

“I’m ready to give them any assistance they may require, but not houses or cars, especially with the present economic predicament,” he added.

Abubakar also said that he had tried to make peace with the legislators in question but his attempts had been in vain.
