Senate President, Bukola Saraki

Chaos broke out today, June 25, 2015, in both chambers of the National Assembly after lawmakers disagreed on the selection process for principal positions in the Assembly.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki went against the wishes of the All Progressives Congress (APC) once again by nominating Senator Ali Ndume as Majority Leader and this led to commotion in the Senate.

Saraki had already put himself in the APC's bad books by defying the party to contest for the Senate Presidency despite being expressly excluded.

In the House of Representatives however, the situation deteriorated into a free-for-all before Speaker, Yakubu Dogara could start the day’s business.
