NASS to pass 2018 budget on April 24

Speaker Dogara says the National Assembly will pass the 2018 budget on April 24, 2018.

Speaker Yakubu Dogara disclosed this at plenary on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.

Dogara noted that both the Senate and House of Representatives have agreed that the budget will be presented and passed on April 19 and 24, respectively.

President Muhammadu Buhari had presented the 2018 budget at a joint session of the National Assembly in December 2017.

Lawmakers had blamed its delayed passage on the failure of some heads of government agencies to appear for budget defence.

President Buhari had in a meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly order all heads of ministers to submit their budget breakdown.
