It took efforts of the security operatives at the National Assembly to eject the students from Reps gallery.
The students were led to the National Assembly by two persons - Haruna Kadiri and Chinonso Obasi - who both claimed to be NANS president.
Trouble started at the event on Friday, June 9, 2017, when Speaker Dogara introduced Kadiri as the President of NANS.
Speaker Dogara's announcement was however rejected by the students.
Irked by this, the students began to murmur and subsequently speak in loud tones as others sang solidarity songs.
Efforts to quell the noise proved abortive.
It took the efforts of security operatives of the Sargent at Arms to eject the students from Reps gallery.
Obasi was also led out of the House by security operatives.
“Today, I am here on invitation, not on my own, to attend this celebration and I am being embarrassed with another fellow being recognised in my place,’’ Obasi said.
“A Sergeant-at-Arms Officer had approached me and asked for my name and I gave my complimentary card.
“To my greatest surprise, when the speaker was about to recognise my presence, the Hembe went to meet him and the speaker recognised Kadiri instead,’’ he added.
A staff of the National Assembly who spoke to Pulse on the condition of anonymity said the students came with two presidents thereby making it impossible for the Speaker to recognize them.

“How can you come with two presidents? How can the both of them occupy the same position as presidents of same group? the source asked.
Speaking on the achievements of the House in the last two years, Dogara said the lower legislative chamber has kept its promises of transparent deliberations and passage of the 2017 Appropriation Bill.
