Ex-Governorship aspirant sworn in as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

Obanikoro was sworn in by President Goodluck Jonathan along with seven other nominees.

Former Lagos Governorship aspirant, Musiliu Obanikoro was today, March 18, sworn in as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (II).

Obanikoro was sworn in by President Goodluck Jonathan along with seven other nominees.

The former Minister of State for Defence, was nominated by Jonathan and confirmed by the Senate on Wednesday, March 11, despite widespread opposition due to allegations of election rigging levelled against him.

Other newly sworn-in Ministers include Patricia Akwashiki (Information), Nicholas Ada (State, Foreign Affairs I), Augustine Akobundu (State, Defence), Fidelis Nwankwo (State, Health), Hauwa Bappa (State, Niger Delta Affairs), Kenneth Kobani (State, Industry, Trade and Investment) and Joel Ikeya (Labour and Productivity).

The Minister of State for Health, Khaliru Alhassan was also named Minister of Health.
