‘Boko Haram is a fraud,’ President-elect says

President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari stated further that the sect can be defeated by denying it its recruitment base.

President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, has described terrorist sect, Boko Haram as a fraud.

Buhari stated further that the sect can be defeated by denying it its recruitment base.

The President-elect made the comments on Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Defence House in Abuja while receiving a delegation from Nasarawa State which was led by the state Governor, Tanko Al-Makura.

“The fraud called Boko Haram can be defeated by denying it a recruitment base. No religion allows for the killing of children in school dormitory, in markets and places of worship. They have nothing to do with religion. They are terrorists and we are going to deal with them as they deal with terrorists anywhere,” Buhari said in a statement issued by his media aide, Garba Shehu.

“The worst thing anybody can do is to deny children access to education. That will be destructive to their lives and we are not going to allow that to happen,” he added.

Buhari had earlier said that Boko Haram would feel the strength on Nigeria’s ‘collective will’ once he is sworn into office.

He however urged Nigerians not to expect miracles from his administration.
