A statement issued on Saturday in Jos by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicly, Mr Dan Manjang, said the governor equally lauded efforts of organisations and individuals who aided the release of the cleric.
“I am happy that the 90 year-old cleric has been released and has since been in the warm embrace of his family and in good health.
“His release followed the swift intervention of the joint operation of security forces in Kaduna and Plateau states.
“We rejoice with members of the family of Sheikh Abdulazeez Yusuf and the entire Muslim Ummah in the state over his release,” he said.
Lalong, however, called on members of the public to be extra vigilant and report suspicious and dubious characters among them as they go about their normal duties.
He assured all law abiding citizens of the state of adequate protection of their lives and property.
