MASSOB faults APC chairman’s comment on Igbo presidency

MASSOB’s spokesman, Sunday Okereafor said the Igbos are not interested in the presidency of Nigeria.

Oyegun, while speaking in Enugu state recently, told APC members that the party can work out the possibility of an Igbo presidency.

In his response, MASSOB’s spokesman, Sunday Okereafor said the Igbos are not interested in the presidency of Nigeria.

Okereafor, who described Oyegun’s comment as laughable, said the movement is not interested in any political party’s ideology.

According to him, Nigeria has never supported the idea of an Igbo person ruling the country.

Okereafor also said “The claim by the APC national chairman that the party will use Igbo Presidency to finally kill the PDP in the South-East is laughable. Nigeria has never had Igbo presidency in its agenda. So, Igbo man can never be President in Nigeria in 500 years.

“The Igbo elite should understand this. MASSOB does not believe in any political party in Nigeria. We believe in the freedom of Biafra and not the campaign for the Presidency to come to a person from Igbo extraction.”

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) recently declared May 22, 2017, as Biafra Independence Day.
