Freed ex minister reveals what her kidnappers did to her

A former Minister of state for Education, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo who was recently rescued by officers of the Ogun State police command, has recounted her ordeal in the hands of her abductors.

Anisulowo and her security aide were kidnapped on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, along the Sawonjo-Iganokoto road in Yewa-South Council Area in Ogun state.

The ex minister’s abductors reportedly demanded a ransom of N200m before she would be released.

The police also offered a N5million reward for information that could lead to her rescue.

The ex minister told newsmen when she was brought to the Ogun state Government House by the state Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, that she lived only on water since she was kidnapped.

The Ogun Governor, Ibikunle Amosun also revealed that no ransom was paid to the abductors.

Amosun also expressed his satisfaction at the efforts of the police, adding that he believes in their ability to provide security.

Anisulowo also said she was very hopeful because she knew that men of the police force were searching for her.

The police rescued her on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Gbegbelawo village in Abeokuta North Council Area of Ogun state.
